[News] Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won and Kim Jaejoong may come together for new drama

Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won and JYJ�s Kim Jaejoong will most likely unite to star in an upcoming drama called �Peninsula.�

This drama is going to be a big production; it is already reported to have a budget of 10,000,000,000 WON, which equates to nearly $9 million dollars. The drama will feature a united Korea (no separation between South and North), the united nation�s president, and his National Intelligence Director.

The president�s role is most likely going to go to Jang Dong Gun and Ha Ji Won is slated to be the female lead. Jaejoong is supposed to be play the Director.

Jang Dong Gun has revealed recently that he is interested in starring in this drama. Additionally, Ha Ji Won has expressed that she would like to join this production as soon as filming for her new movie ends.

One reps for the drama said, �Jang Dong Gun, Ha Ji Won, and Jaejoong are all 90% confirmed.�

The filming will begin in June and July and it will start airing in October.

The third performance of JYJ Junsu�s musical, �Tears of Heaven�, sold out all 4,500 tickets in just 2 minutes and 30 seconds, proving once again his powerful influence over ticket sales.

For reference, the very first sale of 10,500 tickets were sold out in 5 minutes, the second round sold out 10,300 tickets in 3 minutes 30 seconds, and now this recent third round of ticket sales sold out in the fastest time yet. Regarding this happy event, Junsu expressed, �Thank you so much to the musical lovers and my fans.� 
�Tears of Heaven� will be a massive production, as it brings together world talents like composers Frank Wildhorn (�Jekyll and Hyde�), Gabriel Berry (�Sweeney Todd�), and musical star Brad Little.

At January 30th broadcast of MBC �News Magazine 2580', the main topic surfaced was titled �JYJ and Kara, why are they?�, the topic focused and brought in recent �KARA situation� and JYJ conflict with their former agency SM Entertainment in the spotlight.

JYJ Kim Junsu said, �We can not do our activities is a strange thing. As a Korean singer in South Korea yet being so difficult to stand on stage, this is the most unfortunate thing as a singer.�

Kim Junsu also added, �In my opinion, a Korean entertainment industry where artists can have equal relations (with their agency) and also be able to sing and dance seems to be what everyone in entertainment industry want.�

JYJ Kim Junsu, Kim Jaejoong, and Park Yoochun applied provisional injunction against former agency SM Entertainment in 2009, and afterward they started to do activities under name JYJ.

However despite the popularity of JYJ as a group, due to interest relationship among SM Entertainment and many local broadcasters, they haven�t gotten proper air time in music program to do music activities ever since.

Meanwhile, �News Magazine 2580' also analyzed the complicated structure of entertainment industry where many entertainment companies are placing bet by investing huge costs to their artists so that they can generate income for them. The continuous dispute between artists and their agencies that didn�t meet amicable results were put as the indicator.

[TRANS] 110131 Tohoshinki, SNSD & KARA Top Japan ITunes Singles Chart

The 3 national representatives of our music industry (Korea) have topped the charts of Japan iTunes.

According to the Japan iTunes chart on the 30th, in first place was Tohoshinki and if we include SNSD and KARA, Korean idol groups have dominated the Top 5.

Tohoshinki's new song "Why (Keep Your Head Down)" was released on the 26th and after achieving #1 on the Oricon charts on the same day, they also achieved top spot in the iTunes chart. 

The 9-member female group SNSD was awarded second place with the Japanese version of "Run Devil Run" and their hit song from last year, "Gee", came in at 9th place.

Girl group KARA was awarded 4th and 5th place with "Mister" and "Jumping" respectively. 

Representative idol groups Tohoshinki, SNSD and KARA are ahead of popular Japanese groups like AKB48 on the same chart, once again proving their popularity in Japan.

Actress Han Ji Min has expressed that she would like to star opposite an idol-born actor.

During an interview with Edaily on the 27th, which was the release of the movie "Detective K" (directed by Kim Suk Yoon), Han Ji Min said,"Recently, I watched the acting of idol members and I was surprised."

Up until now, Han Ji Min has always acted with older actors like Lee So Jin, Uhm Tae Woong and So Ji Sub in dramas as well as in this movie, with Kim Myeong Jin. Han Ji Min said, "In the past I learnt a lot about acting from actors who have an age gap with me and it was really fun, but now I want to try acting with younger actors."

Han Ji Min said, "From Cinderella's Sister and SungKyunKwan Scandal, I could see differences in their performances every time and I finally realized that there are, in a way, some similarities in singing and acting."

However, working aside, if she's looking for a lover, she prefers an older man.

Han Ji Min laughed, "Compared to someone who is of the same age, I'd prefer someone who is older."

Korean singer BoA and popular group Super Junior member Yesung have participated in the OST for "Paradise Ranch", the SBS drama that is currently airing. This was revealed by SM Entertainment (henceforth SME) on 31 January.

SME said, "BoA's song [My Only One] is about breaking up with a lover and yearning for the times spent in love, while Super Junior Yesung's song [Waiting For You] is about breaking up and expressing the wish to wait for the ex-lover to return. Both songs were released on music sites today (31st). 

TVXQ's Changmin and actress Lee Yeon Hee are starring in the hot drama "Paradise Ranch" in which TVXQ and f(x) have participated in the OST as well, and this is a project where many SME singers have participated in.

JYJ's special music essay was released in offline book stores on 24 January and solely based on pre-orders only, they already rose to the top of the book sales charts, becoming a hot topic instantly. This music essay consists of real stories by the JYJ members as well as 6 self-composed songs. Included in this book are diary entries written by the JYJ members during this time, self-composed songs, as well as photos of their daily lives.

The JYJ members expressed, "The self-composed songs recorded in this music essay are all Korean songs, so they hold even more meaning. [TRANS] 110128 TVXQ First Place On Music Bank For 3 Consecutive Weeks; Undefeatable

The group TVXQ has won first place on "Music Bank" for 3 consecutive weeks.

On the live broadcast on KBS2 "Music Bank" on the 28th, TVXQ won first place for the third week in a row with their title song "Why (Keep Your Head Down)". 

On this day, as TVXQ had to perform at TV Asahi's representative music programme "Music Station", they were unable to claim their award in person. 

With this week's award and including those on the 14th and 21st, this is their third win on "Music Bank". Also, TVXQ won first place on MCountdown on the 20th and two consecutive wins on SBS Inkigayo on 16th and 23rd respectively. SBS Monday Tuesday drama 'Paradise Meadow' has gained attention around the world with the initial broadcast of episode 1 on January 24 at 8:50PM.

Despite it having just started, each scene has received much attention, with discussions of the drama flooding Twitter homepages. After the broadcast, Naver, Daum, Nate, and other major internet portals had 'Paradise Meadow' at #1 on their search engines, with the related actors making it into the top as well.

@Paradise_Dongju (Changmin's character) was an official Twitter account created before 'Paradise Meadow' aired, and built communicative links between Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and other countries regarding the progress of the drama. After the broadcast, 'Paradise Meadow' became #3 on the worldwide popular trending list. Netizens have expressed that Dongju's Twitter could be handled by a staff member and doesn't have to be Changmin himself, because they wouldn't be able to talk to him after the drama anyway.

On another note, 'Paradise Meadow' illustrates the vigorous yet soft love story between a young couple who did not bother about the affairs of the world surrounding them. The musical 'Tears of Heaven' has been gaining attention with the participation of JYJ member Kim Junsu and his collaboration with MUCHA for a limited edition jewelry collection.

Based on the transcending love story of fate, 'Tears of Heaven' is set in 1967 and surrounds the relationship between a Korean soldier and the female lead Lyn during the Vietnam War.

Ever since the beginning, Kim Junsu's box office power and the wild spread of the main character's kiss scene on the internet has been attracting a lot of attention to the musical. Due to this surge of popularity, MUCHA has released a limited edition 'Jun Garnet Necklace', designed after Junsu's character Jun in the musical as the main theme.

From the Napoleon Era, soldiers who have dedicated their lives to warfare have made the garnet as a symbol of protection and power, as well as a decoration for the courageous Sagittarius sign. This represents Jun's expectations and hope for an eternal love with his lover.

As the designer for the limited edition collection, MUCHA's CEO Kim Jeong Ju expressed, "Aside from the 'Jun Garnet Necklace', there will also be mirrors, bags, key chains, and bracelets released in the Jun collection. It has been confirmed that Jaejoong was browsing through a Korean forum called 'Telzone JYJ Gallery' on Daum.net following the release of his photo on C-Jes.

The fans from that forum are known to be very mature, with a large base of various ages and genders. Two main projects of support originated from this forum, with the 'We Support Your Youth' posters as well as advertisements of support on public buses. These were also the fans who created JYJ's very own international radio station.

Telzone is also known for their warm and supportive family-like atmosphere. Members don't share JYJ's songs for illegal downloading, post hateful comments about other artists, use bad, cursing language, and try their best to not discuss any rumors related to JYJ. With JYJ member Kim Jaejoong's birthday arriving, fan-made posters have been receiving a lot of attention.

With these posters hanging up around the streets of Seoul Gwanghwamun, it says, "Jaejoong ah, congratulations!" and "Kim Jaejoong, get yourself on TV!"

In the past, fans have also made posters for Park Yoochun after his big win at the 2010 KBS Acting Awards.

What's special with these posters are the words, "Get yourself on TV", which were particularly eye-catching as it is an expression of helplessness that JYJ aren't able to appear on normal broadcasting television stations given their current situation.

However, recently they were able to guest on SBS 'Beautiful Morning' and MBN 'Live Today 2', and are preparing to participate in more cable television programs.
